GLUTTONY AND ALL
A want beyond a need
Is certainly gluttony’s seed
But that’s not exactly rare
In this whole human affair
How do wants expand?
To gain the upper hand
And lead to gross excess
Leaving society and us in a mess
How to control our misguided passion?
A dose of prudence, but that’s out of fashion
Needs for power and recognition
Are hardly good sources of life’s mission
But realizing our place
Within the greater human race
Must be a good start
To activate the heart
Allowing us to see
How we can be free
From the constant demand
Of an isolated mind
And be the life
That sees the inner strife
And acts all the same
Beyond its own name
