We held a well-attended AGM last night in the HG Wells Centre, with plenty of people, informative stalls and a variety of excellent talks, short and long.
We started the evening over tea and coffee, looking around the attractive stalls, firstly on LA21 itself and its 2 main projects at present, Operation Owl and WoLF, Woking’s local food directory. There were other related stalls from RSPB, BTO, Horsell Common Preservation Society and Friends of the Earth.
The main projects of LA21 were explained, as well as future plans for meetings for an introduction to Permaculture (date Dec 10th, 7pm WBC) and community involved energy efficiency through our links to Action Surrey (date Dec 18th, 7pm, WBC offices).
The formal business was briefly concluded then we settled back to listen to our 2 speakers, Keith and Sarah, who gave us interesting insights into wildlife projects locally (Heather Farm) and Surrey wide from Surrey Wildlife Trust. We are very lucky to live in such an area where the community is becoming increasingly proud of maintaining and rebuilding its biodiversity. Thank you for all those who attended, especially those who volunteered to help LA21 or signed up to follow our blog and facebook pages.
More details on the contact of the talks soon….
Woking LA21 AGM Success.
