August 2016 updateThere’s always lots going on at Woking LA21! Here’s a quick round-up of some of our recent activity. We’d love to hear from you if you’d like to get involved.

Balsam Bashing

Woking Biodiversity Partnership has been busy tackling the Himalayan Balsam growing along the banks of the Hoe Stream and around Mayford Meadows. The volunteer events have been really effective and it’s been great to see so many local people getting involved. Read more about the Balsam Bashing and how to get involved in future actions here >>

Incredible Edible Knaphill

A small group of volunteers are setting up an Incredible Edible project in Knaphill. It aims to grow fruit and veg in communal spaces in the village for everyone to enjoy. Read more about Incredible Edible Knaphill and how to get involved here >>

Permaculture

One of our volunteers, Daniel, was the catalyst for Woking’s first ‘permablitz‘ earlier this year. Since then, he has been interviewing people involved in permaculture in the UK and making the interviews available as free podcasts. Listen to the podcasts and let Daniel know what you think here >>

Woking Food & Drink Festival

LA21 volunteers will be at Woking Food & Drink Festival (2-4 September) in the town centre, talking to people about the Woking Local Food (WoLF) directory and local food producers. Do come and find us! Read more about WoLF and the festival here >>
