At Woking Food & Drink Festival, we launched our Ten-mile dinner competition! We want to get you thinking about where your food comes from.
Can you plan a meal using just ingredients grown or produced within a ten mile radius of Woking Borough? Send us your recipe ideas and be in with a chance of getting your recipe published online.
How to enter:
- Send us your recipe for a starter, main or dessert course, using only ingredients grown or produced within a ten-mile radius of Woking Borough.
- Email to wokingla21@yahoo.co.uk by Sunday 17 September 2017.
- The best local recipe ideas will be published on the WoLF/LA21 website. Judges’ decision will be final.
- By entering, you agree to your recipes being published on the WoLF/LA21 websites.

On Sunday 24th September, Woking Biodiversity Partnership is hosting one of its regular conservation volunteer working parties on Millmoor Common. Email woking.biodiversity@outlook.com if you would like further details or would like to be added to the mailing list for future events.
Thanks are in order to everyone who got involved with ‘balsam bashing’ over the summer. Woking Biodiversity Partnership reports having several successful sessions in July and an additional boost from a team of Skanska’s employee volunteers who spent a day working on at a site in White Rose Lane.
During Woking’s ‘Living Well Week’, we’ll be taking part in the One You Health Festival on Tuesday 10th October. Living Well Week aims to showcase activities and services available to older people from across Woking Borough. You can find out more (and download the brochure of activities taking place during the week) on the council website.
One of our volunteers, has set up a petition to create a safe route for pedestrians and cyclists between Chobham and Woking. Please take a look at the online petition and if you agree, sign it and share it.
