For those wishing to get out in the fresh air and do some active volunteering in 2019, what better way to do so than by taking part in one of the many volunteer work parties held by Woking Biodiversity Group?
The events take place at four sites around the Borough – St Johns Lye, Mayford Meadows, Millmoor Common and, by appointment, the Thames Water Authority site.
Every site brings new and interesting challenges, from habitat maintenance at St Johns Lye to bashing balsam at Mayford Meadows and keeping ponds clear or planting wild flowers at Millmoor Common.
Volunteer dates for the first half of the year are available on the Woking Biodiversity Group page.
Ad-hoc dates for wildflower meadow creation in conjunction with the Thames Water Authority should not be missed and those interested can email us to register their interest and receive more information when the dates are confirmed.
