Balsam Bashing – 30 JUNE

Work Party at Mayford Meadows 2018

Our first balsam bashing date on Mayford Meadows is Sunday 30 June. We will be revisiting the areas that we cleared last year and remove any regrowth. The session will be between 10.00 and 13.00. Refreshments and cakes will be provided. Meet at the Meadows gate entrance on Guildford Road near to the Mayford Arms. Parking is available in the road. It is recommended that long sleeves and trousers are worn even if it is a hot day. This will provide protection from some stinging nettles in which some of the balsam may have grown. Please also bring garden gloves and a bottle of water.

The recent heavy rain has currently left surface water in some areas. The forecast is for hotter weather next week and this should be much reduced. Please check this entry on Sat next week if we have any further heavy rain. Look forward to seeing some of you on Sunday 30 June.
