A policy that sets out Woking Borough Council’s decision to reduce the use of avoidable single use plastics was adopted at the council meeting on July 25th. Some points include increasing awareness among staff and partners to increase recycling and promote schemes that encourages, residents and local businesses to reduce their use of single use plastics. Woking LA21 is actively campaigning to reduce the use of single use plastics by holding Mass unwrap events at local supermarkets and by canal cleaning days.
