WEAct is looking for people who are interested in the environment to get involved with Woking’s Great Big Green Week by hosting an event.
Great Big Green Week is an initiative organised by The Climate Coalition, to take place in the run up to COP 26 from 18-26 September. It will be the largest event for climate and nature ever seen in the UK. Thousands of events will celebrate how communities are taking action to tackle climate change and protect green spaces, and encourage others to get involved too.
Woking Environment Action is organising a programme of events for the week including Net-Zero Visioning Walks, Biodiversity Volunteering Days and a climate debate with local MP Jonathan Lord. We want to encourage local organisations, businesses, community groups and residents to join us by organising an event, display or other initiative during the week. This can take whatever form you like, whether it’s a litter pick, art display, talk, or anything else you can think of.
We believe that we can make Woking Great Big Green Week one of the biggest and best in the country!
If you are interested in getting involved, we would love to hear your ideas. Equally, if you require further information about Woking Great Big Green Week, please let us know and one of our members would be happy to discuss it further with you.
