Woking Environment Action (WEAct) is a local group of volunteers committed to taking action on issues related to sustainability and climate change. We have secured an upcoming opportunity to host a ‘pop-up’ climate hub in a vacant shop in Woking Town Centre. The ‘climate hub’ will be a space to engage and educate people on the climate emergency and empower them to take local action.
To make the WEAct Hub a success, we will need a wide range of volunteers – to be present at the hub during opening hours as well as other roles supporting the hub’s administration, promotion etc. We are also keen that the hub is utilised by a wide range of people and groups, acting as a community connector bringing people together to work on common aims.
This short briefing will provide further information regarding the hub for both prospective volunteers and other groups/individuals who are interested in utilsing the space during our ‘pop-up’ period.
