The first Great Big Green Week took place in September 2021 and was the largest event for climate and nature ever seen in the UK. More than 200 Local Green Weeks celebrated local activity, raised the profile of climate change and showed why climate action is relevant to community and local decision makers.
Here in Woking, WEAct hosted a range of events during the Great Big Green Weeks in both 2021 and 2022 and we are already planning for next year which will take place between 10 – 18 June 2023.
We had a very successful GBGW 2022 however we want to make Woking’s Great Big Green Week 2023 even bigger and better – and that’s why we are contacting local organisations, businesses and community groups to join us by organising an event, display or other initiative during the week.
National organisations, institutions, businesses and media outlets will join in, getting more people involved up and down the country, and putting pressure on the UK Government to up its game on climate change.
If you would like to organise your own event there is an Organiser’s Guide to help you. And please do let us know your plans so that we may help to promote it as part of our overall schedule of events.
Or if you would like to get involved with WEAct’s planning of events please do contact us by emailing wokingenvironmentaction@yahoo.com.
