Congratulations to our first Plastic Free Champions for Woking!
We are delighted to be able to announce that Cafe Primo Horsell, Prince and Sons Family Butchers and Hamlyns have just been awarded their certificates and plaques to recognise their amazing achievements and continuing efforts to reduce single-use plastic within their businesses. Their concern for their impact on the environment, desire to help their employees and customers reduce their impact and enthusiasm for finding new solutions has been fantastic.
Our group of volunteers at ‘WEAct on Plastic’ are busy getting ready to award some more champions soon but are always looking for more local businesses, schools and community groups that would like to join us to help Woking achieve a Plastic Free Community status as part of the Surfers Against Sewage campaign.
It’s not about removing all plastic from our lives. Instead it’s about kicking our addiction to avoidable single-use plastic, and changing the system that produces it.
