On the weekend of 8th and 9th March 2025, we planted 420 trees. We had 53 people come along over the two days, including our Mayor Louise Morales, our MP Will Forster and two of our local councillors Melisa Kuipers and Ellen Nicholson. We’d like to thank Woking Borough Council for their support and also The Woodland Trust for providing the trees.
Why did we do this?
To make Woking a healthier, greener place for us all:
๐ณ Boosting nature and supporting local wildlife by providing new habitats and food sources
๐จ Improving air quality by absorbing pollutants and releasing oxygen.
๐ Green spaces with trees reduce stress and keep us feeling happy and healthy
๐ Trees provide shade, reduce urban heat, and help manage stormwater, which will make Woking more resilient to extreme weather events like flooding.
๐ค Bringing our local community together and get to know each other better
